I have a open floor plan and thought one of these would be great in my kitchen. It covers the majority of my downstairs with very strong signal. My wife doesnt want to see a ceiling mounted access point so this was my best option and I am very happy with the performance!
Device did not function as advertised. The access port(s) are useless as the device is unable to handle traffic for multiple VLAN, even when connected to an Omada switch. Normally not an issue as duds happen. Technical support support, though kind, was unable to solve the issue. Return process soured me, as return shipping was charged as apparently "not working as designed/advertised" didn't count as a "quality-related" issue. Not sure I will purchase Omada again in the future, and I have mostly Omada equipment currently.
early, but working good
Install was a breeze. Removed my face plate.Popped the RJ55 coupler off the faceplate and then connected a small patch cable from the coupler to the wall AP. I was too lazy to cut off the coupler to terminate a RJ45.Place.The newwall plate and then mounted the AP. Process took about 5 minutes. AP came upimmediately on my omada software controlleer. My devices that was closer to the new AP automatically drifted to it after about day. No issues.
POE passthrough did not work; awaiting RMA.
Specifications have a mistake where it is unclear if 802.3at alone is enough for POE pass through feature to work.
