Provides consistent, high-speed coverage throughout my entire outdoor space. Highly versatile, and the build quality is rugged and reliable. Highly recommended for a seamless outdoor connection.
Compared to past Omada outdoor access points this has a very slick mount and waterproofing system - I love it. The AP is stable and has been replacing my outdoor 610s and 650s from Omada bit by bit. The omnidirectional and directional features are really cool. In custom mode you can use one band on omni for area coverage and a second in direction to link to a another AP via mesh or a camera a good distance away. The omni vs directional gives a lot of flexibility. It's also built well with what appears to be a hefty heat dissipation ability. I've had one out since this was released and another 4 for a few months. Very happy.
I used this to replace an EAP225 that was misbehaving. The EAP725 is a different animal, metal case, professional grade. The performance is remarkably better, 10 dB higher signal level on 5 Ghz 45 degrees off axis. Likewise 2.5 GHz signal levels were substantially higher. I have a music streamer, phones and multiple automation devices spread over 180 degrees both sides in my back yard. The EAP725 performs remarkably better in all locations. I also love that it's true POE, I don't like individual adapters, it's much cleaner having all of my AP's on a POE switch.
Would be a 5 but it did not detect the external antennas connected to it so it did not change automatically to omnidirectional (antennas that came with it, no third party). Had to go in it and manually change it. Other than this, its been pretty darn good for my yard/patio.
Easy setup in the app and working great. We use as a wireless access point and didn't realize I needed the POE adapter so if you need that order to power it. It's made very well and seems water tight.
