If you've ever used our Omada platform, you know the OC200 Hardware Controller is the trusty, compact brain of the network. It's the "set it and forget it" box that lets you manage all your access points, switches, and gateways from one place.
Today, we're excited to introduce its successor: the Omada OC220 Hardware Controller.
We kept the same compact, fanless metal housing, but we completely rebuilt the inside. This is a massive performance upgrade across the board, and it's built to make your Omada network faster and more responsive.
Small Box, Big Upgrades
The biggest feedback we received on the previous generation was performance—you wanted a snappier, faster interface. We heard you.
Compared to the OC200, the new OC220 offers:
-
2.6× Faster Startup: Get your network management up and running in a fraction of the time.
-
Quad-Core CPU: We upgraded from a dual-core to a quad-core processor for a much more responsive UI and faster processing.
-
2x Memory and Storage: We doubled both the RAM and the eMMC storage, giving you more power for device management and future updates.
-
Dual Gigabit Ethernet Ports: This is a huge leap from the 100 Mbps ports on the OC200. The new gigabit ports ensure your management interface is never a bottleneck.
-
Support for OpenAPI & Cluster Mode: The new hardware muscle allows the OC220 to support more advanced features, like OpenAPI for third-party integrations (which was removed from the OC200 due to hardware limits) and Cluster Mode for high availability.
Why It's the New Standard for Your Network
The OC220 is more than just a speed bump; it's the new standard for reliable, on-premises network management. It still does everything you love about Omada controllers, just better:
-
No PC or Server Needed: It's a dedicated, low-power device. Just plug it in, power it via 802.3af PoE or Micro USB, and forget it.
-
Hybrid Cloud Management: Get the best of both worlds. Manage your network locally for ultimate stability and privacy, or use our free cloud access to monitor and make changes from anywhere via the Omada App or a web browser. No license or subscription fees required.
-
Centralized Control: It's built to be the brain of your network, managing up to 100 access points, 10 gateways, 20 switches and even 2 DeltaStream GPON OLTs.
-
Fanless and Silent: The durable metal casing and fanless design mean you can place it on a desktop or mount it on a wall without it ever making a sound.
-
Data Backup: A built-in USB 2.0 port allows for easy data backup, giving you extra peace of mind.
Who Should Upgrade?
If you're building a new Omada network, the OC220 is the clear choice.
If you're an existing OC200 user and have noticed the web interface is a bit sluggish, or if you're a prosumer who wants to integrate your network with other platforms like Home Assistant via OpenAPI, this upgrade will be a night-and-day difference in responsiveness.
We're incredibly excited to get this new hardware out to you. It's the small-box, big-upgrade solution that makes the Omada experience faster and more powerful than ever.
As an Omada Hardware Controller, it supports hybrid cloud management for maximum convenience, whether you manage your Omada network locally or remotely without any license fees.

The OC220 complements the Omada ecosystem, replacing the previous generation OC200. Choose the controller that best fits your business needs.

*Actual management scale of the Omada Software Controller depends on the PC/server’s hardware specifications.
**All users are assigned with default network permissions. Customized permissions are not supported during configuration.
