Not Suitable for Secure Omada Networks — Severely Limited and Misleading

I purchased the ER7212PC expecting an all-in-one solution for an Omada-managed network, but it quickly proved to be a major disappointment. While it advertises itself as a router, "switch", and Omada controller in one box, it lacks essential security features required for even moderately secure network environments.

Major issues include:
• No support for advanced ACL rules based on IP groups or specific ports, which makes it impossible to properly segment VLANs or secure access to critical resources like printers, servers, or cameras.
• The management interface is extremely limited compared to other TP-Link models like the ER605 or ER8411. Many Omada security features are missing or simply do not work properly with this device.
• It is not suitable for deployments that require real VLAN isolation, ACLs, or secure access controls. This makes it a security liability in any professional or nonprofit environment.

It looks good on paper, but fails where it matters most — control and security. If you’re building a serious network, stay away from the ER7212PC and use a dedicated Omada router like the ER605 or ER8411, along with a separate controller.

Also, I've been contacting TPLink support for help to start the return process for this equipment, but not answer yet.
